Home / Frequently asked questions

Do you service clocks in the home?

Yes. We service longcase and other clocks in your home or in the workshop, cleaned and set up to keep good time. Get in touch and we will arrange a visit.

Do you work for collectors and the trade?

Yes. We service and restore for families, collectors and the trade, and advise on condition and what a clock needs.

Can you restore a longcase clock?

Often, yes. We restore longcase, bracket and wall clocks, movement, dial and case, keeping as much of the original as we sensibly can.

How do I book?

Get in touch and we will arrange a visit or ask you to bring the clock in. We assess it, advise and give you a clear price before any work.

Can you advise before I buy a clock?

Yes. We are glad to give an honest assessment of a clock before you buy, so you know what you are getting.

How often should a clock be serviced?

It depends on the clock and its use, but many are serviced every few years. We will advise on what suits yours.

Can you repair a clock that has stopped?

Usually, yes. Worn wheels, tired springs and broken parts can often be put right. Show us the clock and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
